AN EDUCATIONAL TOUR TO KANDY

The community of Dominic Savio Aspirantate, Dankotuwa, enjoyed an educational tour to Kandy on 17 October 2026, with the enthusiastic participation of the Salesians and aspirants.

The journey began at 6.15 a.m. with breakfast along the way. The first stop was the famous Nelligala International Buddhist Centre in the Peradeniya area. The community then visited Montefano Monastery, where the aspirants learned about a replica of the Holy Shroud of Jesus Christ through an informative session conducted by a Benedictine brother.

After lunch, the group visited the National Seminary in Ampitiya, followed by Don Bosco Technical Centre, Kandy, where refreshments were generously provided by Fr. Nihal. The day concluded with supper at Don Bosco Institute of Civil Engineering, Matiyagane.

Throughout the journey, the aspirants filled the atmosphere with songs, dance, and joyful fellowship. The tour was not only an educational experience but also a valuable opportunity to strengthen friendship, unity, and the spirit of community life among the Salesians and aspirants.
